I love how Alex Alvarez is such a counterpoint to the stereotype of the macho Latino male perpetuated in the media.

I mean he’s a teenage boy who is openly interested in beauty and fashion and makeup. He’s calm and collected and usually doesn’t get into fights. It’s his white bratty friend who tries to talk him into criminal behaviour. He usually shows when he’s emotional, scared or confused. He gives emotional support (and occasional dating advice) to his family and friends. He talks to his father in order to mend the broken relationships in his family. His grandma is his fucking best friend and he’s not embarrassed about that but rather proud.

Alex defies male gender roles and racist stereotypes. All in all he’s a sweet kid and I love that.

give me a grey makeup pencil and some white face paint and i could recreate the su*cide sq*ads look easily but do u know how complicated it would be for me to make the alien makeup of beyond? itd take years of training, and then weeks upon weeks of work to perfect the prosthetics, hours to put on the actors faces seamlessly………….im salty

if u like girls, here are some reasons to keep on going even when the world feels like it’s just complete garbage:

  • girls are soft and nice to hold
  • if you’ve never held a girl before, oh my GOD do you have so much to look forward to
  • sometimes, if the girl you like is wearing makeup when she gives you a hug, some of that makeup will get on ur shirt and u can feel all special bc look there’s proof that you got to touch a pretty girl
  • also: kissing girls. A+, 10/10 good content. wow. WOW. soft…pretty….the way their eyelashes flutter when they open their eyes after the kiss ends. oh my god im so gay jesus christ
  • when ur lowkey arguing with a girl and you let her win and she smiles so satisfied and you can tell you’re gonna get kisses later……Best
  • listening to a girl you like talk about things she’s passionate about. her cute excited voice….big smile….god
  • sometimes when you kiss a girl, she’ll slide her hands up your sides, and it will Kill You Dead but it’s also the best thing in the entire world
  • sometimes when you kiss a girl, you can put your hands on HER hips and she’ll get goosebumps and press into your touch and it is. incredible.
  • secret looks and flirting with a girl you like…Iconic….

Does anyone genuinely call their siblings sis, sister, little/big sis, bro, brother, little/big brother etc. as constantly as this appears to be portrayed in media? I’m extremely sceptical. Now, affectionally addressing them by something like “slug”, “toad”, “fool”, and “bitch”, or even dare I say it, their gotdamn name, is, from my experience, so much more natural.

you know girls who always smell like vanilla and fresh laundry? the ones who wear a lot of the makeup you know nothing about? who tell you you look nice even though you rolled out of bed ten minutes before?

or the girls who look punk and goth and maybe scary to approach but are some of the friendliest people you’ve ever met? the ones who don’t care for what other people think or say at all? the ones who cut their own hair and make their own t-shirts?

the girls who wear the same sweatshirt 5 days a week? the ones who laugh with you in your car until the last second before you have to part ways? the girls who have gummy worms and redbull for lunch because they stayed up til 3 am the night before?

the overly-excited girls who hug you every time they see you? the girly girls with surprising interests like geology or dungeons & dragons? the girls who take 500 pictures with you because they want to remember that they saw you?

the girls who have to stop and think about what you said to them because they’re sleepy? the girls who always smell like coffee and have their hair in a bun? the ones who you can always rely on to have a quiet day with?

perhaps the girls who drag you by the hand around a mall and show you all their favorite stores? the ones who take you to a craft store and make personalized picture frames with you? the ones who always seem to make it feel like summer?
